How to add custom tokens in Ambire Wallet

Ambire Wallet automatically discovers and displays the tokens you hold. However, there may be cases where you want to manually add a token to your wallet.

The Custom tokens feature allows you to add any supported token using its contract address, making it visible on your Ambire Wallet dashboard.

This feature is particularly useful when:

  • A token isn't automatically detected by Ambire Wallet.

  • Token positions auto discovery is disabled under Settings → Privacy opt-outs.

  • You want to monitor a token's price, even if you don't currently hold any of it.

Custom tokens are displayed on your dashboard even when your don't have any holdings of them.

How to add a custom token

Step 1: Open Custom assets

Open your Ambire Wallet and navigate to Settings → Custom assets.

Under the Tokens tab, click Add custom token.

Step 2: Enter the token details

In the Add token window:

  1. Select the network on which the token exists.

  2. Enter the token's contract address on that network.

  3. Once Ambire recognizes the token, review the displayed information.

  4. Click Add token to confirm.

Step 3: Confirm the token was added

A confirmation message will appear once the token has been successfully added.

The token will now be listed under Custom tokens in Settings → Custom assets, alongside any other tokens you've manually added.

Step 4: View the token on your dashboard

That's it! Your newly added token will now appear in the Tokens section of your Ambire Wallet dashboard.

You'll be able to see the token and its balance, even if you don't currently hold any of it.

Important things to know

  • Zero-balance tokens are displayed: Unlike automatically discovered tokens, manually added tokens remain visible on your dashboard even when your balance of this token is zero.

  • Price information may not always be available: In some cases, Ambire may not be able to retrieve the token's market price. However, the token and the amount you hold will still be displayed.

  • Custom tokens apply across all accounts: Once added, a custom token is available across your Ambire Wallet accounts on the selected network.

  • You can remove custom tokens at any time: Navigate to Settings → Custom assets and click Remove next to the token you no longer want to display.

  • Always verify the contract address: Make sure you're adding the correct token on the correct network. Token names and symbols can be duplicated or impersonated, so use trusted sources to verify contract addresses.

Note: Adding a custom token only changes how it is displayed in your wallet. It doesn't purchase, transfer, or otherwise affect your tokens on the blockchain.
