If you forget your device password, recovery depends on whether you have enabled the Device Password Recovery feature or not.
If the Device Password Recovery feature is enabled
Step 1: Click "Forgot Device Password?" on the login screen
Step 2: A new tab will open in your browser. Enter the email address you previously verified for the Password Recovery on this installation of the Ambire Wallet extension.
Step 3: Open your email, find the message from Ambire, and click on the "Verify" button. You will see the following confirmation:
Step 4: Return to the browser window from Step 2, and you will be presented with the option to set a new Device Password for your Ambire Wallet extension. It must be unique and at least 8 characters long. Once you have done this, click on the "Change Device password" button in the bottom right corner.
Step 5: Open your Ambire Wallet extension and use the newly created Device Password.
If the Device Password Recovery feature was not enabled
If the Password Recovery feature has not been activated, it is not possible to recover the Device Password and unlock your Ambire Wallet extension.
Do not worry - this doesn't affect your accounts and your funds - they are safe!
If you cannot recall your Device Password, you will have to delete the extension, install a new instance of the Ambire Wallet extension, and manually add your accounts to the new one.
