How to add custom networks

Updated over 2 months ago

One of the new features available for Ambire Wallet extension users is the option to add custom networks.

Those are the EVM networks, which the Ambire Wallet extension does not support by default.

You can find the currently available networks and the option to add new ones in "Settings" -> "Networks" menu:

You can add any EVM network as long as it is in the ChainList or you have the details required to add it manually.

Please keep in mind that not all networks support smart accounts, and in some cases, the support of smart accounts will depend on the selected RPC.

Also, in some cases, while the network supports smart account wallets, Ambire Wallet contracts will not be deployed yet (which means that nobody has used that network with Ambire Wallet before). If you want to use such networks, you can deploy Ambire Wallet's contracts on them using a EOA. You can find out how to do it in this tutorial.

You have the following options:

  1. Add a custom network from ChainList

  2. Add custom network manually

  3. Edit network settings/details (RPC URL and Block Explorer URL)

Adding a custom network from ChainList

  1. Open the "Settings" -> "Networks" menu and click on the "Add networks from ChainList" button.

  2. Find the network you want to add and click on the "Connect Wallet" button under it's tab:

  1. Click on "Connect" to establish a connection between Ambire Wallet and ChainList. If your Ambire Wallet extension is already connected with ChainList, this step will be skipped.

Edit network settings

You have the option to add and change the default RPC URL and Block Explorer URL for already-added networks.

To do so, open the "Settings" -> "Networks" menu, select the network you want to edit, and click on the "Edit" button in the "Network details" window.

Once the details are changed, click "Save"
