Ambire Wallet is all about ease of use and security. To ensure an additional layer of protection for our users, we have integrated hardware wallet support. One of the supported hardware devices is Trezor.
What is Trezor
Trezor is a hardware cryptocurrency wallet - a wallet that stores the users’ private keys in a secure hardware device. The main principle behind hardware wallets is to provide full isolation between the private keys and your computer or smartphone that are easier to hack.
How does Trezor work
Trezor can be used as a standalone wallet or connected to popular wallets as an additional layer of security. If you connect Trezor to a wallet app, every time when you sign a message or a transaction via the wallet app, it will prompt you to approve the transaction with your hardware wallet as well.
Trezor in Ambire Wallet
When you open your Ambire Wallet account, you don’t need anything, but an email and a password. You can always use your password to login to your smart wallet. However, most people managing significant funds want to have another layer of security on their wallets. You can give managing permissions to your existing Trezor wallet and sign your Ambire wallet transactions with your Trezor hardware wallet.
See how you can add a Trezor signer to your Ambire Wallet in our video tutorial:
