Most bridge providers charge an additional fee for their services.
Part of this fee is due to the bridge nature, which requires payment of a gas fee not only on the original network but also for the transaction on the destination network.
After selecting the token and network you want to bridge, as well as the destination network and token, when you click on the "Proceed" button, you will be presented with the bridge fee, which can be one of the two scenarios:
1) All the fees are included in the quoted fee
In this case, all the required fees for the selected bridge route are included in the quoted fee.
This means you can choose how to pay them:
- using the assets of your Gas Tank
- using native token
- using ERC-20 token (available on networks with Pectra/EIP-7702 update)
2) Bridge provider fees are separated from the quoted fee
In this scenario, the required bridge fees for the selected route are not included in the quoted fee (upper field), and they are displayed in a separate field (second one).
In such a case, you can still pay your quoted fees as per the previous scenario - with Gas Tank, native token, or ERC-20 tokens, but the additional provider fees for the bridge can be covered only with a native token.
When the selected bridge provider separates the fee types, you will see their additional fee in the second field:
